Fabrizius Visits, Makes His Pick

There's a premium placed on guys that can shoot. When you're 6-foot-8 and possess a big stroke, you're all the more important. One A-10 program locked down a perimeter ace over the weekend.

Arlington Heights (Ill.) Hersey forward Luke Fabrizius had his choices down to Dayton and Northwestern. This past weekend he was on Dayton's campus and that'll be the last visit he takes.

"I had a great feeling coming into the weekend but everything sold itself this weekend," Fabrizius said of his commitment to the Dayton Flyers.

"It was awesome. It was so much fun down there. The coaches were awesome and the players were so welcoming. I just felt like I fit in with everything. Academics are great and it seems like a program that's on the rise. They've got high character guys."

As a junior, Fabrizius banged 3s at a 45% clip. Playing behind the arc is his calling card. At 6-foot-8 and 180 pounds, he's bigger than your typical wing shooter and his size and skill level should allow him to move around in the Flyers' offense.

"They see me playing the 3 or the 4," Fabrizius said. "I've got to gain some strength and quickness. I'll play on the perimeter because they've got bigs and a ton of athletic wings. I'll set screens and pop and all that stuff."
