Anthony Marshall, 6-1 JR SG/PG Las Vegas (Nev.) Mojave, is one of the elite prospects in the West Coast class of 2009. Marshall has a great approach to the game. He's unselfish, an excellent defender and a terrific competitor. He's got a good stroke to the stripe and he might be able to play some point guard down the road.
I spoke with Marshall recently and asked about the schools that he's been hearing from lately.
"Gonzaga, USC, Washington, Iowa, Kentucky, UNLV, Washington State, Virginia, UC Santa Barbara, Colorado State and Notre Dame are some of them," said Marshall.
Marshall said a few of the schools have extended scholarship offers.
"UNLV, Colorado State, Gonzaga and Washington State have offered," said Marshall.
Marshall took an unofficial visit to UNLV recently and he was supposed to visit Colorado State this past weekend. However, that visit was rescheduled for October 26th.
I asked Marshall about the factors that will influence his decision.
"Playing time and academics are the main things," said Marshall. "Location doesn't really matter to me."
Marshall said he's not close to making a decision.
"I'll probably decide after AAU next year," said Marshall. "So probably after July."
