It's Over: Davila Decides

As it turns out, the head coach who landed Victor Davila was front and center for one of the biggest nights of the player's career. Davila, a Puerto Rican born insider, made his decision Monday night.

Nearly two years ago, Seth Greenberg made the drive from Blacksburg to Boonville the night Victor Davila announced his presence. Davila summoned up a strong performance against Michael Beasley and Oak Hill. Greenberg was there for the fireworks.

On Monday, his persistence was rewarded as Davila selected the Virginia Tech Hokies over Iowa State, Clemson and Charlotte. "We visited up there 3 times unofficially," Donnie Livengood, Davila's guardian said. "The campus is beautiful. They were one of the early schools to come down and visit Victor. It just felt like the place he needed to be."

Davila, a Top 100 prospect and all-stater out of Starmount High, averaged 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks as a junior.

"There are so many good programs and people that we met. He couldn't have gone wrong. There wasn't a wrong place but this felt like the right place."
