Source: Iverson Makes College Choice

Colton Iverson had narrowed his choices to a pair of programs but now it looks like he's taken it a step further. learned Iverson reached a verdict mid-week.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers were in South Dakota yesterday and by the time they were done visiting Colton Iverson, the Yankton High product had pledged to attend Minnesota. He had narrowed it down to the Gophers and Nebraska. The center was a priority recruit for Tubby Smith and staff.

"Colton told Tubby last night," a source told "It came down to Nebraska and Minnesota. He went down to the Nebraska-USC game last weekend but he's a Gopher."

The commitment is a good one for the Gophers who have junior college forward Paul Carter already committed.

Iverson, a 6-foot-10 building block inside, is ranked the No. 20 center in the nation. He'll bring Big Ten ready size to the Gophers. With his AAU team last summer, Iverson did an excellent job of owning his area. His recruitment took off in July and led to the attention he received from places like Florida, Creighton and a host of others.
