Hare Joins Teammate In Pac-10

Are direct flights cheaper from Oregon to Chicago these days? Must be since college coaches from the Pac-10 are making in roads in Chi-town.

There's something about the Pacific Northwest and the lure of prospects from the Chicago-area to that neck of the woods. The Oregon Ducks have been mining Chicago the past few seasons and now the Oregon State Beavers have joined the fray again.

Ryan Hare, a 6-foot-4 combo wing out of Marshall High picked the Beavers this week. He'll join Mike Stovall, another Marshall High product in Jay John's program.

"They've got good coaches all over the country," Mac Irvin said of the commitment. Irvin, a veteran traveling team coach, praised Hare for his intensity and rugged play.

"His toughness is what he's about," Irvin said. "He defends very well and he can get to that basket. That's what he's going to bring to them."
