Jeff Jackson's Furman program scored a strong commitment over the weekend. Neil Duval, a 6-foot-8 forward out of South Lake (Tex.) Carroll pledged to the Palladins after considering Penn.
"I really liked the people there and the coaching staff. It seemed like the right place," Duval told Scout.com.
"I think they had a real solid recruiting class before me and I liked the work ethic and attitudes of the players. They had similar interest as me and I enjoyed my time there with them. It's not a real big school and I wasn't sure if I would want a big school or small school but it's what I wanted in the end."
As a junior, Duval averaged 10 points a game. His recruitment escalated this summer when he began stroking perimeter shots while playing with the loaded Dallas Mustangs. Duval should be able to help Jackson stretch defenses with his shot and add versatility to the forward position with his size.
