Weber State picked up a pair of verbal commitments this past weekned, according to sources close to the recruitment.
Nick Thompson, 6-6 SR SF Clearfield (Utah) High, committed to the Wildcats after also considering Pacific and Pepperdine. Thompson is a rangy prospect with a versatile game.
I asked Thompson why he chose Weber State.
"It came down to the coaching staff," said Thompson. "You saw what kind of turnaround they had in one year. I want to be there and see what they can do in four years."
Thompson said Pacific was the other finalist in his recruitment.
Terrance Dent, 6-2 SR PG/SG Denver (Col.) Mullen, gave his commitment as well. I spok with Dent and asked him why he chose Weber State.
"When I took my visit there two weeks ago I was very comfortable with the players and coaches," said Dent. "I think the team will be really good and it was a good fit for me. I think the coaches will push me to be as good as I can be."
Dent also drew interest from Northern Colorado, Dartmouth and a little bit from Colorado State.
