Reid Set For Kansas Visit

Jeff Reid, a 6-foot-5, 175-pound wing, checked in with Scout.com to clue us in on the latest in his recruitment.

Jeff Reid had two choices this weekend. The 2009 prospect was invited to both Kansas and Kansas State for their midnight madness festivities. Reid, who has already tripped to both schools, decided that he'll head to Lawrence.

"I'm going up to KU this Friday for their Late Night," Reid, who recently transferred to Topeka (Kans.) Hayden, said.

Following an impressive July, Reid's interest among college coaches picked up. The adidas It Takes 5ive Classic was one of his best events, as he showed off a smooth game with deadly jump shoot from behind the arc.

Majority of the Big 12 has begun chasing him, as has Stanford, Gonzaga, Oregon, Miami, West Virginia, UNLV and Georgia Tech. Thus far only Kansas State has offered a scholarship.

"I like the coaches, the players and just the thought that they've turned the whole thing around from the past," he said about the Wildcats.

Reid, who is trying to set up a visit to Gonzaga, isn't close to making a college decision. He actually wants to wait until his senior year to take official visits.

"I'm going to start narrowing the colleges down. Then closer to my senior year I'll take visits to the colleges that I'm interested in. Some of the colleges I want to take unofficial visits to like Gonzaga, but most of them I'll probably wait until my senior year."
