Burgess Will Play In The CAA

Bradford Burgess felt like Virginia Commonwealth was the right fit, so Sunday evening he made a verbal commitment to Anthony Grant and his staff.

The Sunday night commitment streak continues, as Bradford Burgess made his college decision. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound wing is headed to Virginia Commonwealth.

"I just went there for midnight madness," Burgess said. "I have been to VCU a couple of times over the summer and I really bonded well with the coaching staff and all the players. I learned more about VCU as a school."

The VCU staff used a unique approach to reel in Burgess, and the Richmond (Va.) Benedictine standout feels like they can make him a better player.

"They told me that being with Coach Grant that I'm in the coaching line of Rick Pitino and Billy Donovan and that I can learn a lot from him and his staff to become a better player."

Burgess, who played with Boo Williams during the summer, is a talented wing prospect that will help provide VCU with immediate depth on the perimeter. He's rated as a three star prospect on Scout.com.

"I'm going to play whatever they need me to play," Burgess said. "I just want to help them win more championships."

Burgess picked Virginia Commonwealth over interest from Northeastern, Penn State, Richmond, Western Carolina, Old Dominion and Loyola-Chicago.
