Eargle Will Play In The SoCon

Damien Eargle is headed to the Southern Conference. He plans to play his college ball at UNC-Greensboro.

Damien Eargle had scholarships from a handful of schools and Monday evening he decided to accept one. The 6-foot-6 forward is head to UNC-Greensboro.

"I went up there and got along with the coaches real good," Eargle said. "I also hung out with the players and I played with the players and I liked them and got along with them real well, so I decided to commit."

Spartans assistant coach Kevin Easley was the point man on his recruitment and the two built a strong relationship.

"He came down to Harding and since then we hit it off real good," Eargle said. "When I went down there it was nice, he treated me like I was apart of the team already."

Eargle also said that UNC-Greensboro head coach Mike Dement played a major role in his recruitment. The Marion (Ohio) Harding standout especially enjoyed the workout he watched during his visit.

"He's a real good coach," Eargle said. "I saw him working out the team and he worked them out hard. It just made me want to commit right there. He's a real nice coach and I think he knows what he's doing and he'll get me to play up to my full potential."

Eargle picked the Spartans over Akron, Kent State, Wright State and Wyoming.
