Another Big Is Off The Board

The dominoes continue to fall, as Assane Sene made his college decision Tuesday afternoon. Chalk another one up for the ACC Conference.

The list of available post prospects continues to diminish, as Assane Sene has made his college decision. The South Kent (Conn.) School standout plans to play his college basketball at Virginia.

"He had three great choices, but mainly he built a great relationship with Dave [Leitao] over the past seven months or so," Sene's high school coach Raphael Chillous said.

"The whole time Dave's been recruiting him, he's been really honest with him. One of the things that stuck out for him, was when he got hurt and he went on a visit, Dave actually cared that he get hurt, not just him as a basketball player got hurt."

The class of 2008 big man also liked the fact that Virginia offered international business as a major.

"He also wanted to be an international business major because he speaks five different languages," Chillous said. "For him the business school at Virginia was a strong draw."

Virginia beat Connecticut, UCLA and Syracuse for Sene, and according to Chillous they're getting a big man with loads of potential.

"They are getting a 7-foot, 230-pound kid that isn't even close to reaching his potential. All of the coaches recruiting him couldn't believe how defined his game got in such a short time.

"I think he's going to be one of the better post players that Virginia has seen on their campus for a while. They got a guy that can change the game on the defensive end and can really, really run."

Sene, a three star prospect on Scout.com, joins John Brandenburg and Sylven Landesberg to make up Virginia's three man recruiting class.
