Espinosa Finds Big East Right Fit

Kevin Keatts' Hargrave program is cranking out Division I pledges this fall. Eladio Espinosa, a power forward out of North Carolina, made his selection Tuesday night.

The South Florida Bulls locked down a key frontcourt target Tuesday night. Eladio Espinosa, a native of North Carolina, picked the Bulls after visiting the Tampa campus along with Marshall.

"He's probably one of the heavier recruited kids we had in the open period," Hargrave coach Kevin Keatts said. "He visited South Florida and Marshall. It was a tough decision but he's going to South Florida.

"I think when it was all said and done he wanted to play in the Big East Conference."

Espinosa spent his junior season at Victory Christian where he played alongside George Mason commitment Andre Cornelius. He transferred to Hargrave this fall where his effort as a boardman was noticed by college recruiters.

"He's a guy that right now you'd consider him a four man with a lot of energy. He's like a tight end in football; you have to have him on your team because he does a little bit of everything. His bread and butter is rebounding and finishing around the basket."
