Jared Cunningham, 6-3 JR PG/SG San Leandro (Calif.) High, made a verbal commitmeent to Arizona State today.
"I took a visit there and I liked everything about it," said Cunningham. "The weather, the coaching staff, the players -- I loved the players -- everything was perfect."
Cunningham is one of the elite guard prospects in the West Coast class of 2009. He's got great size and he's a very good athlete. While we hesitate to ever project height, Cunningham is very young-looking and it's possible he'll get a bit bigger.
Cunningham said the other finalists in his recruitment were Cal, Washington State and San Diego State.
