Canadian Wing Headed To A-10

Francis Cedric-Martel, a wing out of Canada, managed to navigate below the radar of most American colleges. On Monday, Richmond locked down a young man we think should pay big dividends.

The Richmond Spiders scouted Francis Cedric-Martel and spotted him in July at the Triple S Harley Shootout in Morgantown, WVa. On Monday night, hours after winning their first game of the season, the Spiders secured a commitment from a wing with great potential.

Francis Cedric-Martel, a 6-foot-5 wing out of Montmorency in Quebec, Canada, picked the Spiders after taking one visit. Longwood, Nova Scotia and George Mason were amongst the interested parties. In short, Richmond have gotten a gem out of Canada.

"I like the offense of the team and the way they play," Cedric-Martel told Last season, Cedric-Martel averaged 12 points a game.

"They really wanted me on the team and told me I'd be a good recruit for them next year and I'll help a lot. They said they'd take of me and we'd have success."
