Hokies Tap Florida Pipeline Again

What's a Virginia Tech recruiting class without a Florida prospect? Seth Greenberg loves returning to his Sunshine State roots and this year was no different.

The Virginia Tech Hokies, courtesy of Seth Greenberg, enjoy recruiting in the state of Florida. On Tuesday, Gene Swindle, a 6-foot-10 senior center, picked the Hokies after considering South Florida and South Florida.

"He's making the calls to Coach Heath and (Penn State's) Coach DeChellis," Gene Swindle, Sr., said. "It was a tough decision for him but he feels like it's the right thing for him."

Swindle became a popular recruit this fall when the arms race to secure size got cranked up a notch. While he may take a year to develop in Blacksburg, the fit was perfect.

"He thought about it a while. He was up there last week. He came home, listed his pros and cons of what he wanted to do and it's a good fit for him. He'll probably redshirt and for his age that isn't a bad deal. It's what he wants and if he's happy with the decision that's the best for him."
