Durant Makes Pick; Will Sign Tomorrow

Kendall Durant has had a favorite in mind, but he wanted to take a visit before making his decision. The post grad prospect took the visit and now plans to play college ball in the ACC.

Virginia Tech hit for the daily double, as they not only picked up Gene Swindle, but Kendall Durant gave them a verbal commitment on Tuesday as well.

"I just felt it was a good situation," Durant said. "They've been tracking me since May and they've been real loyal to me. I just wanted to see if it was going to be a good situation and all I had to do was visit."

The New Hampton (N.H.) School standout is familiar with the Virginia Tech program and has developed a bond with the players and coaches.

"I went down there and I know Jeff Allen and Malcolm Delaney because they are from around my way," Durant said. "I just felt comfortable with all the players and the coaches. I built a good relationship with all of the coaches."

Durant, who is ranked as Scout.com's 18th best post grad prospect, picked the Hokies over scholarship offers from Penn State, Tulsa, South Carolina, St. John's, South Florida.

Durant and Swindle join Victor Davila to make up Virginia Tech's 2008 recruiting class.
