Devine Down to Two

The #7 small forward in the west, Chris Devine, from Alaska, has narrowed his list to two schools, one from the Big West and one from the Big Sky...

Chris Devine, 6-7 SF, Eagle River (Alask.) Chugiak, is down to two schools and will decide soon.

"It's UC Santa Barbara or Montana State," Devine said. "I'll probably decide in the next couple of weeks."

Devine said he's still thinking about possibly waiting until spring to decide, to see if he has more options open up for him. "I thought for a while that I'd wait and sign late, but now I think I'm leaning toward committing early. I don't think I really want to wait now. Before I wanted to see what else might come up but I don't think I'm going to do that."

Devine took an official visit to Santa Barbara last weekened and really enjoyed it. "It was fun. I liked it a lot." His older brother, Zach, plays at Montana State, and he's visited him enough on campus. ‘I live with him for a month during the summer so I know the school pretty well," Devine said.

He is fully qualified.
