"It's good that they had all of those players before me," Siva, a 5-foot-11 point guard, said. "Now it's my turn."
"I have a new role this year," Siva continued. "My team needs me to score more, get the ball out and really get everyone involved."
The Franklin standout, which averaged 18 points a game last season, will kick off his junior season on Tuesday against Garfield.
Although he is certainly focused on the upcoming season, Siva continues to monitor his recruitment and he recently picked up a new scholarship. Rick Pitino, who recently visited him, called him and put the offer on the table.
To go with his offer from Louisville, Siva also claims grants from Washington, Arizona Kansas, California, Miami and a "bunch of Pac-10 schools." Of the schools recruiting him, he's developed a trio of favorites.
"I really UW, Louisville and Arizona," Siva said. "I like how Louisville runs and plays hard. I talked to Terrence [Williams] and he said you have to be tough to play and I just like how they play and their style. With Washington it's close to home and I like how they get out and run."
Siva, who is ranked No. 34 overall and No. 5 at the point guard spot, hopes to trip to one of his favorites during the season.
"I haven't taken any visits," Siva said. "But I'm going to try in the middle of the basketball season to visit Louisville with my coach."
