Massamba, a standout at Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep, has put up impressive numbers already this season. He's averaging 11 points and 8 rebounds a game, while shooting 81-percent from the field.
The 6-foot-10, 255-pound center received a lot of his attention following Findlay Prep's games in the National Prep Showcase, where they played against some quality competition including South Kent and New Hampton Prep.
"I think I'm playing pretty good," Massamba said. "I don't think it's been anything special to play against those guys. I'm just trying to do my job."
Since the prep event, Massamba has heard from a number of schools including UCLA, Nebraska, Connectcut, Cincinnati Gonzaga, Iowa State, Nevada, St. John's, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Delaware, UNLV and Auburn.
Of all of the schools recruiting Massamba, only UNLV, Auburn and Delaware have offered him a scholarship. UNLV is the only school that has had him on campus for a visit.
"I liked it a lot," Massamba said of his visit to UNLV. "I like the guys, the coach and the program"
The Sweden native is still in the process of examining the schools recruiting him and before he narrows his list, he hopes to take a few more visits.
"I would like to take some more visits before I decide what school I want to go to," Massamba said. "But I would like to go to a school that I will be able to play a lot. I'm not used to sitting on the bench."
Massamba and Findlay Prep will hit the road again, as they trip to Kentucky for the Marshall County Hoopfest. They match up with Georgia powerhouse Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler on Saturday.
