2009 Introduction: Victor Rudd

Victor Rudd, a 6-7 junior forward from Southern California, has a host of high major programs expressing interest in him...

Victor Rudd, 6-7 JR SF/PF Van Nuys (Calif.) High, is a big-time talent and schools across the country have taken notice. Rudd has the ability to shoot to the stripe, but also put the ball on the floor and finish at the rim. He still has some work to do in the areas of focus and intensity, but there's no question he has a high ceiling as a prospect.

I spoke with Rudd yesterday and asked about the programs he's been hearing from lately.

"USC, Kansas State, Kansas, Cal, Arizona, Arizona State, Gonzaga, Washington, Washington State, Pepperdine, Utah, UNLV, UCLA, Memphis...those are some of them," said Rudd.

Rudd said Pepperdine is the one program that has offered to date.

When I asked if he had a feel for which programs have been recruiting him the hardest, Rudd replied, "Cal and Washington State."

I asked Rudd if he has any schools in mind for visits.

"I want to visit Cal, USC and UCLA for sure," said Rudd.

Rudd doesn't see himself choosing a school anytime soon.

"I'll probably decide after next summer," said Rudd.

Rudd talked a little about the issues he's looking at in choosing a school.

"Style of play -- I like to run," said Rudd. "Coaching experience -- who can help me get to the next level. I also want to go to a school with a good business program. Location doesn't really matter."

Rudd said he has a 3.1 GPA.
