Maze Finds Home In ACC

Bobby Maze, a one-time member of the Oklahoma Sooners, is now a top junior college guard. On Thursday Maze made the call to an ACC big timer.

Here's a Christmas present for the Terp fans out there. One of the top junior college guards in the nation committed to Maryland Thursday night.

Bobby Maze, a one-time Oklahoma player, averages 24 points and 8 assists at Hutchinson (Kan.) Junior College. He leads the Jayhawk Conference in points and assists and next fall he'll be a Terrapin.

"I wanted to be closer to home," Maze said. "I always wanted to play in the ACC and Coach Williams laid it on the table and told me that he would like to play three guards. It's a good opportunity."

Maze selected the Terps over Tennessee. An Allen Iverson look-a-like if there ever was one, Maze is regarded as one of the best junior college guards in the country. He's fast, crafty with the ball and a native of the Maryland area.
