Bell Resurfaces At IMG Academy

Jermaine Bell, a well-traveled big man, has surfaced again. Apparently, he's making strides and is a member of the Class of 2004.

Bell Is Just A Junior

Jermaine Bell has been around the block the past few seasons. Now, he's surfaced at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. IMG coach Mike Moreau usually gets the same reaction. It's kind of like "Oh, you have Jermaine Bell."

Yes, Moreau does have Bell and the coach says the player is making strides.

"When he got here he could barely get through a workout," Moreau said. "He had 24 against Chipola junior college the other day in a scrimmage. He's just stronger and in better condition."

Bell has always seemed to have a problem putting weight on but at the same time, he's always been a good defender. "He's starting to click now. He's blocking shots at one end and finishing with a dunk at the other."

Bell is a junior at the Academy these days so he'll be under Moreau's care for two years. At one time, he was committed to a Big East program. "There was a soft early commitment to St. John's," Moreau said. "It's kind of soft on both ends. They were down to see him during the contact period." Miami and West Virginia have also expressed an interest.
