Moses Morgan, 6-5 SO SF/SG Las Vegas (Nev.) Palo Verde, is a very promising young wing. Morgan's got a very good body for a wing and he's an above average athlete. With a good stroke to 18-19 feet, and the ability to slash from the perimeter, Morgan has the potential to be a very good scorer at the next level.
Whether he plays the three or two remains to be seen, but there's no question he's one of the more promising players in the West Coast class of 2010. I expect most of the Pac-10 and West Coast high major programs to ultimately show interest in Morgan.
I spoke with Morgan recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been in contact with him.
"UNLV, Arizona, Indiana, UCLA, Gonzaga and SMU," said Morgan.
When asked if any programs stand out for him at this time, Morgan said, "I like Arizona and Indiana right now."
I asked Morgan if he has thought much about the issues he'll consider when making his choice.
"Not really," said Morgan. "Location is kind of an issue. I'd probably rather stay in the west."
Morgan said an ACC program was his dream school when he was younger.
"North Carolina was my favorite," said Morgan.
Morgan has only taken one unofficial visit so far, to local school UNLV.
Morgan said he's not planning on making an early decision.
"I'll probably wait until my senior year to decide," said Morgan.
A good student, Morgan said he has a 3.4 GPA.
