The decision was a little surprising, especially to some sources close to the player. But, on Wednesday, Josh Boone picked Connecticut.
UConn Lands Center
Josh Boone, a 6-9 center at West Nottingham Prep, committed to Connecticut on Wednesday.
Boone had previously narrowed his list to UConn, Kansas and Virginia. Many of those close to the situation felt like Kansas had really the upper hand.
"It came down to location," one source said. "He's raised by his mother and I didn't think that she felt like she wanted him to go that far. If it wasn't for location it probably would have been Kansas."
Boone joins Marcus Williams as the other UConn commitment from the Class of 2003.
