Holloway Is SEC Bound

Murphy Holloway is officially off the board. The talented forward gave Mississippi a verbal commitment.

Murphy Holloway was ready to end his recruitment, so Wednesday morning he did. The 6-foot-7 forward plans to play his college basketball for Andy Kennedy at Mississippi.

"I like their style of play first of all," Holloway said. "They are also losing their main three-main now, so I have a chance to play off the top, if not start."

The Irmo (S.C.) Dutch Fork standout said he had narrowed his list down to Maryland, Clemson and Mississippi, prior to making his decision. The Rebels won out because of the relationships he built with the Ole Miss coaches and future players.

"Coach Torrey Ward is a really cool dude and I talked to him a lot," Holloway said. "There are some players there that I'm already cool with like Terrico White."

Holloway is ranked the No. 17 small forward in the class of 2008.
