Lane Plans To Cut List Soon

Brendan Lane is having a great junior season and is a big target for many on the west coast. He's got a handful of offers and he's looking to cut his list down soon.

There aren't many quality junior big men left on the west coast and that makes Rocklin (Calif) High standout Brendan Lane an important target for a handful of schools.

The 6-foot-9, 200-pound power forward currently holds scholarship offers from Arizona, Stanford, California, Arizona State and Virginia. Lane has also picked up interest from Washington, Washington State and UCLA.

"I'm kind of close to cutting it down to five," Lane said. "After the season is over I'm going to cut it down to five or so. I'm just trying to get a good look at all of the schools right now."

Lane recently took unofficial visits Stanford and California for games. Despite having visited a few schools, he doesn't claim a leader, but did say that he's looking for a specific style of play.

"Mainly somewhere that I'll fit in with their style of play and I'll be able to get some playing time early," Lane responded when asked what he was looking for. "Also going to a big time conference like the Pac-10 and then west coast would be preferable, but I'm open to go to east coast too."

Lane is in the midst of a great season. The versatile forward currently averages 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks a game.

"I'm doing really good," Lane said. "We are 23 and one right now and undefeated in the league. The season is going really well and we've won 21 in a row."

Lane and Rocklin put their big winning streak on the line on Friday when they take on Nevada Union.
