Put up 30 points a game, keep good grades in school and shoot the basketball. That's been Chris Babb's senior formula and it's got him close with a handful of programs.
Arlington (Tex.) Oakridge Academy is home to one of the top shooting guards remaining in high school basketball. Chris Babb
's senior season is a success and the one-time New Mexico
pledge is listening to nationwide pitches.
"He's turned it up a notch," Mike Babb, Chris' father said. "He's having a really good season."
Vanderbilt will be in town Tuesday night evaluating him. Texas A&M is dabbling. "He hasn't gotten a lot more offers but he's gotten a ton of calls and a lot of people are coming in to evaluate him."
Babb's season ends Saturday with Oakridge's state tournament being played over the weekend. After that, it'll be all recruiting, all the time.
North Texas has offered. Iowa State and Bradley, according to dad, will receive one of his four remaining official visits. Oral Roberts, a school no longer in contention, received a fall official trip.
"There's a whole lot of scenarios that can happen. We've talked to Baylor (visited unofficially), Kansas State and several Big 12 schools. Texas Tech has come out to watch him."
