Blue Demons To Sign Five

The DePaul Blue Demons, working together as a staff for the first year, landed an impressive recruiting class. On Wednesday, the final two pieces of their 2003 were put into place.

Green, Heard Give Demons Five

DePaul's 2003 recruiting class will probably wind up even better than first-year head coach Dave Leitao would have hoped. Leitao and assistants Josh Oppenheimer and Gene Cross canvassed the country and would up committing five players from four different states as part of their recruiting haul.

On Wednesday, the final two pieces of the DePaul puzzle were put into place. Marcus Heard is a Blue Demon. He decided last week and attempted to keep things under wraps. We can confirm that as of Wednesday, he's a member of the recruiting class. Heard, a super work horse guy, will find his way onto the floor early for the Blue Demons.

Wesley Green visited last weekend and made good on what he told us Monday night and committed to DePaul. Green, a member of our pre-season Top 100, is a fine catch for DePaul. A gifted passer and low post scorer, his size will be welcomed.

Joining Heard and Green is guard Sammy Mejia, guard Tyler Smith and forward Lorenzo Thompson. Smith, Mejia and Green are members of Pre-Season Top 100.
