Fordham Solidifies Backcourt

Trey Blue was excited about the Rams since his visit. On Monday, the excitement came to a head as the Brewster guard made his pick.

The Fordham Rams backcourt of the future is set. Manning the controls will be Jio Fontan, a starter for the nation's No. 1 high school team. Fontan's running mate next season will be Trey Blue. A 6-foot-2 combo out of Brewster Academy via Chicago, Blue committed after considering ODU, Santa Clara and Richmond.

"I'm excited because they want me, that's first and foremost," Blue told Scout.com. "The A-10 is one of the top conferences and I'll be able to play right away.

"They want me to come and play. They're graduating Marcus Stout. They want me and Jio Fontan to run the team for four years. They want to score the basketball and get up and play up and down tempo. They said they need me to come in and score baskets right away."

Blue won't be returning to his Midwest roots and said he's becoming quite familiar with the inner workings of ball on the East Coast. "I like it out here on the East Coast. There's nothing like home but I'll get used to New York."
