Malone Picks Auburn Tigers

Andre Malone, a North Clayton standout who averaged 22 points a game, is headed to the SEC.

The Auburn Tigers moved swiftly to lock up a talent from the Atlanta area. North Clayton junior wing guard Andre Malone, a 6-foot-4 standout, committed to the Tigers after holding offers from South Carolina and Georgia.

"I just liked the school," Malone told Scout.com. "I like their style of play and I got along good with Coach Lebo and Coach Cooper."

The North Clayton standout ran with the Atlanta Celtics 16 and under team last season. He averaged 22 points a game with his high school team this fall and winter. He'd been on Auburn's campus and had heard from a litany of high-level programs. However, the Tigers won him over and did so quickly.

"Coach Lebo told me that he liked how I play and he said he could make me a better player. That's what I want to do."
