Darius Morris, 6-2 JR PG/SG Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward, has good size and quickness for his position and he's drawing considerable recruiting attention.
I spoke with Morris recently and he talked about the schools that have expressed interest.
"Michigan, Washington State and Wyoming have offered," said Morris. "Georgetown, USC, Washington and Cal have all been out to my school and I'm interested in them as well. I'm also interested in Texas, Boston College and Notre Dame, but they haven't been out yet."
Morris went on to say, "Michigan kind of stands out for me right now. They have playing time and I like Coach Beilein – he's been the one recruiting me. But as of right now, I'm still open and I haven't really narrowed it down yet."
I asked Morris what he is looking for in a school.
"A well balanced place for education and basketball," said Morris. "I want to go to a school that has a good name, that is somewhat high profile, with a good tradition. Also, a chance to come in and have an impact as a freshman."
Morris said he's not really close to making a decision yet.
"I'd like to have a list with a maximum of five schools or so by the end of summer" said Morris.
Morris said he's visited a couple schools unofficially already.
"My school went on a trip back east in January and I went to Boston College and Upon," said Morris.
Morris said he currently has a 3.6 GPA.
