Bellfield Decides During Visit

Another senior guard has made his decision. Oscar Bellfield took an official visit this weekend and he opted to end his recruitment while on campus.

Oscar Bellfield had a chance to commit to UNLV earlier in his high school career, but he opted to wait out the process. It turns out the Runnin' Rebels were the best fit for him and he committed during his official visit this weekend.

"It really started when I was junior and I took an unofficial visit to Las Vegas," Bellfield said. "I really wanted to go there, but I didn't want to commit so early. So I waited it out and they ran out of scholarships, then another one opened up recently."

"It started off kind of early and then they were able to get down there," the three-star prospect said. "That was actually my first unofficial visit."

While on campus this weekend Bellfield went to UNLV's game against Utah, toured the campus and got a chance to meet everyone involved in the program.

"[I like] the campus, the environment, the coaching staff and the way they play," Bellfield said. "They play a good tempo, get up and down, fast paced and they play defense."

The Los Angeles (Calif.) Westchester standout picked UNLV over strong interest from UTEP, Georgia and Virginia Tech. He is the fourth prospect in UNLV's 2008 recruiting class. He joins Deshawn Mitchell, Darris Santee and Brice Massamba.
