Galloway Ends His Search

Kevin Galloway, a Top 100 recruit in the Class of 2006, spent this past season at the College of Southern Idaho. On Monday night, Galloway found an SEC program to his liking.

The Kentucky Wildcats added a unique piece to their recruiting puzzle Monday night. Kevin Galloway, a former Top 100 prospect, committed to the Wildcats. The 6-foot-6 small forward/point guard is at Southern Idaho Junior College after spending his freshman season at Southern Cal.

"I verbally committed a month ago but I wanted to keep it quiet," Galloway said. "I built a nice relationship with Gillispie and it was over since. He's got a great relationship with his guards – Acie Law, Deron Williams, Dee Brown."

In addition to Kentucky, Memphis and Tennessee had been involved. "I can come in right away and play and it can't much better than that."

In 2006, Galloway was tabbed as's No. 88 prospect in the senior class. An exceptional athlete, he's an extremely unique player. He can handle it and play point but has the size to guard multiple wing positions. At Southern Idaho, Galloway filled out the stat sheet with 9 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds again for a powerful contingent of prospects.

"It was a great season but it sucks not to be able to go to the (Juco) tournament," Galloway said.

As a high school senior from California, Galloway signed with Southern Cal. He played a season before transferring to CSI. He said the experience taught him a thing or two. "I learned to be humble, learn the system and be mentally tough."
