Brendan Lane, 6-9 JR PF Rocklin (Calif.) High, is one of the elite post prospects in the west for 2009. A skilled four man with good length and athleticism, Lane is drawing interest from the top programs on the West Coast.
I spoke with Lane recently and asked about the schools that he is considering.
"Stanford, UCLA, Cal, Arizona, Washington and Washington State," said Lane.
Lane said several of the schools have extended scholarship offers.
"Stanford, UCLA, Cal and Arizona have offered," said Lane.
I asked Lane about the issues he'll consider when making his choice.
"The opportunity to play right away," said Lane. "A big factor is also a winning program – I want to go someplace where I have a chance to win. And the academics are important."
When asked if any school stands out from the pack, Lane said "no, none of them stand out right now."
Lane said he's not really close to reaching a decision.
"I'm going to play through the summer and then decide sometime in the fall," said Lane.
An excellent student, Lane said his GPA is currently around 3.85.
