Corbin Moore, 6-10 SR C Los Alamitos (Calif.) High, is one of the top unsigned big men in the west. Moore has a nice frame, a good stroke out to the stripe and he had a solid showing in the last game I saw him play in February.
I spoke with Moore recently and he said there are three main schools involved with him at the moment.
"Pepperdine, Northwestern and Long Beach State are the three main ones," said Moore. "I talked to the coach at Pepperdine and they want me to come on a visit either this weekend or the following weekend. Northwestern is going through a coaching change, but I've been talking to the assistants there. And Long Beach State has been to a couple games and practices."
I asked Moore if location will play a role in his choice.
"No, location isn't really an issue," said Moore. "I'm just looking for a good education and someplace with a decent basketball program."
Moore said it might be awhile before he reaches a decision.
"I think I'm going to play with a Pump team for unsigned seniors in April," said Moore. "Those tournaments are the last two weekends of the month."
A very good student, Moore said he has a cumulative GPA of 3.8.
