Wolfpack Pick Up Key Recruit

Trent Johnson's Nevada program recently did well for itself. Power forward Nick Fazekas visited three schools but it was the first school he visited that wound up landing him.

Wolfpack Lands Fazekas

Nick Fazekas of Ralston Valley High made three official visits this year. His first was to Nevada, followed up by Marquette and Utah. "I felt most comfortable with the staff and players at Nevada," Fazekas said.

With that said he committed to Trent Johnson's up and coming program.

"I thought maybe I could go in and I'm pretty sure I can play right away and help them win. Last season they lost one or two they shouldn't have lost and that might have put them in the top two or three in the league."

Fazekas, since his recruitment began, has always said playing as a freshman was No. 1 on his list. Surely, some schools would have loved to redshirt him and get him physically ready for the high-major competition, but Fazekas wanted to play right away.

At Nevada, he should get that chance. He's got great hands and is skilled offensively. His first taste of national competition came at the 2002 USA Basketball Youth Developmental Festival where he showed well with the West team.
