Seahawks Strike With Guard

Kevon Moore, a guard out of Montrose Christian, visited and recently committed to the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks.

The UNC-Wilmington Seahawks completed their recruiting class Sunday afternoon. Kevon Moore, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, selected the CAA program after visiting the campus officially.

The Seahawks tapped into the Triple Threat traveling team program twice, signing forward Brad Bald in the early period.

"I think he liked where it was located," Terry Moore, Kevon's father said. "It's close to the beach and you know there's a good opportunity to play. One of the assistants he talked to a lot, Coach Furr, he felt like they really, really wanted him. They followed him a long time."

During the course of his recruitment, Moore drew interest from George Mason, St. Joseph's and VCU. His lone official visit was to UNC-W and he did trip to Mason unofficially.

"He's a scorer," Triple Threat coach Keith Stevens said. "At the end of the day he's a scorer and a two guard that can score, slash and finish."
