Lorne Jackson, 6-1 SR PG/SG Simi Valley (Calif.) High, is one of the more talented unsigned seniors in the west. Jackson is a versatile player who can score in a variety of ways, but also has the ability to create for others.
I spoke with Jackson recently and asked about the schools that have been in contact with him.
"George Mason, Long Beach State, Pepperdine, San Diego, Penn State, Butler, Oklahoma, UC Riverside, Montana State and American," said Jackson.
Jackson said several of the schools have extended scholarship offers.
"Long Beach State, Riverside, Montana State and American have offered," said Jackson. "Pepperdine is probably going to offer – they want me to come on an official visit. I'll probably visit sometime this week."
Jackson said he visited San Diego last week and Long Beach over the weekend. "I'm trying to get back east to Penn State and George Mason," said Jackson.
When asked if he has a sense for which schools have been recruiting him the hardest, Jackson said, "Long Beach, Riverside and George Mason."
I asked Jackson what he is looking for in a school.
"The coaches, the chemistry with the players and the tradition of the school," said Jackson.
Jackson said he hopes to reach a decision by April 16th.
