"It turned out pretty good because we won the championship," Lubick said about his sophomore season. "We went 27-5. It started off really strong and it kind of got slow in the middle, but everybody ended pretty strong."
Lubick, who averaged 18 points, nine rebounds and five blocks this past season, picked up his play from last year. He averaged more points, picked up some weight and is stronger in the paint.
"I think I really went with the flow of the team," Lubick said. "I started off really, really strong and then I kind of went into a slump shooting the ball and that kind of hurt me, but I ended it pretty strong."
His play during the season caught the eye of high major coaches. Among the schools that Lubick claims have already offered are Connecticut, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Marquette, Louisville, Michigan, UCLA and Virginia.
"[Recruiting] is going really well,"I just need to get out in the summer and maybe even in the spring and take some visits."
"I'm really, really wide open I guess right now," he continued. "I haven't really narrowed it down yet."
Lubick also has interest from Wake Forest, Florida, Duke and Ohio State. Of the schools interested he's taken unofficial visits to Georgetown, Virginia and Michigan. He recently tried to check out UCLA, but it didn't work out.
"I was just out in L.A. and I was supposed to go visit UCLA, but they were just so busy with their conference tournament," Lubick said. "I've gotten a chance to meet their coaches and I'm always in touch with them a lot."
Although he said he'd like to visit every school on his list, he only has trips set up to Duke and Wake Forest. Lubick plans to check out both schools when his AAU squad plays at the Tournament of Champions.
"I just want to wait it out," he said. "I just want to make sure that I don't rush into anything. I'm definitely going to look at what I got very seriously and make the best decision for me."
