Just One Official So Far
Linas Kleiza saw him first American football game last month. The power forward visited Florida State on an afternoon that saw the Fighting Irish knock off the Seminoles. It was his first official visit.
At this point, it just looks like official visits are going to be tough to fit in. "It's going to be tough because it depends on our practice schedule," Montrose assistant David Adkins said. "If there's anything possible it would be to come down on a Saturday after a Friday practice. He'll see all the schools that he's looking at."
Missouri has worked Kleiza pretty hard and they are in strong with him. NC State has a Montrose Christian player on its current roster so that'll be a help. In reality, this situation is in its infancy stages because Kleiza isn't going to sign with anyone until the spring. Regardless, you can expect most major college programs to check in and take his temperature as he's one of just a handful of Top 100 big men on the board.
Montrose sophomore Uche Echefu injured his knee at the Fall Charlie Weber. He's going to need surgery but it shouldn't be too complicated. "He tore his medial meniscus and strained his MCL," Adkins said. "The way he practiced, I would think he does the surgery I would say two to three weeks. He was dunking yesterday."
Echefu is a native of Nigeria.
