Beckham Ends His Deal; Picks SEC School

Interest in Antiquawn Beckham picked up as his post-grad year went on and he ended up with a few high major offers. On Sunday he accepted one and committed to a SEC school.

Antiquawn Beckham became a hot target for a number of schools this season. After weighing his options and taking a few visits the 6-foot-5 guard picked Mississippi State.

"It's a dream come to true to play in the SEC and especially going somewhere that the head coach wants me," Beckham said. "Playing the SEC is big to me."

After originally signing with IUPUI last year, he opted to go to a prep school for a year and it worked out, as he improved his game and earned a high major scholarship.

This past weekend Beckham, who originally went to Louisville (Ky.) Ballard, took a visit to Starkville (Miss.) and he came away with a great impression of the team and campus.

"I hung out with the players a lot and my mom was down and she liked it a lot," Beckham said. "Once I got the OK from my mom I felt like it was the place for me."

Beckham, who is regarded as a three-star prospect, picked MSU over late interest from Virginia, Indiana and Tennessee. Bradley, UAB and St. John's were involved with his recruitment as well.
