Faber Headed Cross Country

One of the better big man prospects is off the board. Krys Faber made his pick late Thursday night.

Krys Faber has decided to leave the west coast.

The 6-foot-11, 255-pound big man ended his recruitment shortly after taking a couple official visits. Faber decided on DePaul.

"I took a lot of my coaches advice and we sat down and went over the pros and cons and overall it felt like a better fit and a more comfortable fit," Faber said.

"Getting to know the team and the staff and their families helped too," he continued. "The city of Chicago played a big role in it. It's a nice atmosphere."

The Los Angels (Calif.) Ribet Academy standout picked the Blue Demons over strong interest from Minnesota and Northern Illinois. Faber said his main role for Jerry Wainwright will be to man the post.

"[I'll play] in between the four and five. I could post, but not play strictly back to the basket. I can step out and knock down shots and can handle and be able to guard a three, but guard a five at the same time."

Faber joins Jeremiah Kelly, of Aston (Pa.) American Christian, and Devin Hill, of New Canaan (Conn.) St. Luke's School, in DePaul's 2008 class.
