JUCO Standout Picks Kentucky

Josh Harrellson had his list narrowed to two schools and Tuesday evening the talented big man decided on a SEC school.

Distance was a factor with Josh Harrellson, but in the long run he had to fulfill a dream.

"It was Kentucky or SLU and the only reason I didn't want to go to to Kentucky was the distance," Harrellson said. "But I can't let my dream be controlled by distance and if I want to play at the next level I have to leave sometime."

The 6-foot-9, 260-pound center from Southwestern Illinois Junior College took a visit to Kentucky two weeks ago and hit it off with the coaching staff and players.

"I really enjoyed it," Harrellson said. "I had a lot of fun. I made a lot of friends, I clicked with my teammates and I just had a really good time."

"I built a really great [relationship] with them in a short amount of time," he continued.

Harrellson, who averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game last season, joins Darius Miller, DeAndre Liggins and Kevin Galloway to make up Kentucky's 2008 recruiting class.
