Vaughn Announces Transfer

Julian Vaughn decided to leave Florida State and recently committed to a national powerhouse.

The Georgetown Hoyas lost a transfer last weekend but gained one this week.

Julian Vaughn, a 6-foot-10 freshman from Florida State, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining after sitting out next season.

"I like the style they play and the campus a lot," Vaughn told "I feel like I can really get better and take my game to the next level and pursue my basketball goals."

As a freshman, Vaughn averaged 13 minutes, 3 points and 2.3 rebounds a game. George Mason, Pittsburgh, Kansas State, Notre Dame and VCU inquired once he got the release.

Vaughn was's No. 77 prospect in the Class of 2007. Vaughn ran with D.C. Assault on the AAU circuit. He was coached by David Cox, now an assistant with the Hoyas.
