Olsen Is Headed West

Jeremy Olsen ended his recruitment on Saturday. The class of 2009 product is headed back west to play in the Mountain West Conference.

Jeremy Olsen is originally from Utah and he'll be headed back soon. The 6-foot-9, 205-pound big man recently gave Jim Boylen and his staff a verbal commitment.

"I think it's a great opportunity," Olsen said. "I like the coaches and everything they told me, they weren't lying to me and it happened. It's just a great opportunity. I'm actually originally from Utah, so I have a lot of family and friends there and I'll get great support out there."

The Suwanne (Ga.) Collins Hill standout took a visit to Utah in the fall. During the trip Olsen checked out the campus, built a stronger relationship with the coaching staff and took in a big time football game.

"I liked it a lot," he said. "I was out there the weekend that they upset UCLA in the football game. It was a good experience and I got to talk to the coaches and hung out with them. I really liked it a lot and it's a great place."

Olsen, who is rated as a three-star prospect, picked Utah over interest from Xavier, BYU, Tulane, WKU, Iowa, Notre Dame, Alabama and Auburn.
