2009 Introduction: Mike Moser

Mike Moser, a very athletic and promising junior small forward from Oregon, has multiple offers from Pac-10 programs. After his showing in the spring, expect Moser to draw even more interest in the coming months...

Mike Moser, 6-6 JR SF Portland (Ore.) Grant, hasn't received much Internet hype to date, but he's definitely one of the top West Coast prospects in 2009. A long and athletic forward, Moser may eventually grow into a power forward. He's got excellent quickness and above-average ball skills. His outside shot is still a work in progress, but he has just about every other attribute you look for in a small forward.

I spoke with Moser recently and asked about the schools that have expressed interest in him to date.

"Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, Cal and Indiana have offered," said Moser. "They're all pretty much equal right now."

Moser talked a little about the issues he'll consider when choosing a school.

"The relationship with the coaches and someplace where they play up-tempo and push the ball," said Moser. "Location doesn't matter, but I would like to be somewhere that I can play early."

Moser said he has been on unofficial visits to Washington, Washington State, Oregon and Oregon State. He said he may visit UCLA unofficially if he attends the Bruin Elite Camp in June.

When asked if he has any schools in mind for official visits, Moser said, "I want to visit Arizona, Indiana and Cal for sure."

In light of all the new recruiting interest, it's not surprising that Moser said he plans on waiting to pick a school.

"I'm planning on a fall decision," said Moser.

Moser said he currently has a 2.9 GPA.
