The versatile Ward picked up the phone and pledged allegiance to the Longhorns.
"I think they're going to use him in a lit of different ways," Chris Chaney, Ward's Patterson coach told Scout.com. "He's a wing kid and a Texas, hard-nosed type of kid. He's about team first; those are things that I think Texas will develop."
For one of the top prep school team in the nation, Ward averaged 15.5 points and 5 assists. He ran with Southeast Elite on the traveling team circuit.
Ward was ranked as the No. 19 post-graduate prospect in the nation two weeks ago by Scout.com.
