West Coast 2009 Rankings: Power Forwards

There's been quite a bit of movement in the West Coast 2009 power forward rankings in the last year. Victor Rudd, Brendan Lane, Reeves Nelson and Vander Joaquim are among the top prospects...

The power forward position in the west for 2009 looks a lot better
than it did a year ago, as numerous prospects have started to emerge.
Rudd gets a slight edge for the top spot due to his overall skill
level, impressive athleticism and very high upside. If Rudd can
learn to play with consistent focus and intensity, he will be one
of the elite prospects in the country. Lane is right behind at number
two and he has a chance to end up at the top of the list. Lane has the
ability to play inside and on the perimeter. He's got good feet and
hands, to go with a frame that should fill out well. Joaquim is originally
from Angola and he's still adjusting to the American game. However,
he's got a ton of potential, due to his body, athleticism and ball
skills. Nelson is one of the better rebounders in the class and he
gets a lot of points around the basket. Williams is a versatile
forward who can score inside, but also knock down shots out to 15-17
