McDonald Ends Recruitment Following Visits

It didn't take Leslie McDonald long to make a decision upon returning from a pair of visits. The talented guard will play in the ACC.

After taking visits to North Carolina and Duke this past weekend, Leslie McDonald returned to Memphis ready to make a college decision. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound picked North Carolina, Monday evening.

"I really got to know Coach Williams and I got a really good feeling about UNC and I thought that school was the best for me," McDonald said. "I just had a really good feeling about that school."

"I liked the whole school from the gym to the environment and I talked to the whole coaching staff and UNC to me is like a family," he continued. "The way I saw the coaching staff work together, with Roy Williams and the way they players played on the court. I just saw the togetherness and the family atmosphere."

McDonald, who is ranked No. 27 overall by, picked the Tar Heels over Memphis, Tennessee, Duke and Georgetown.

"I feel like UNC is the best for me and heading that way will really help me excel to get to the next level," McDonald told

McDonald is the fifth member of the 2009 class to commit to the Tar Heels. The Memphis (Tenn.) Briarcrest Christian standout joins David Wear, Travis Wear, John Henson and Dexter Strickland.
