Hall Claims Two Offers; Visits SEC School

Following a solid spring, Ferrakohn Hall claims a pair of scholarship offers and recently took a trip to an SEC school for their Elite Camp.

Recruiting is heating up for Ferrakohn Hall.

The 6-foot-8 big man from Memphis (Tenn.) White Station currently holds scholarship offers from Memphis and Tennessee, and is hearing from a host of other programs.

"Recruiting is going good," Hall said. "Right now the main schools that are recruiting me are Kentucky, Tennessee, Memphis, Purdue, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Miami and Arizona State."

Two weeks ago Hall made a trip to Memphis to visit with John Calipari and his staff. According to Hall, the meeting was to make it clear that he had a scholarship offer on the table.

"It was good," Hall said. "I'm getting to know the coach more. He just wanted to let me know that he wanted me and Leslie [McDonald], as well as Xavier Henry and John Wall."

More recently Hall took a trip to Lexington (Ky.) for Billy Gillispie's Elite Camp. Although he didn't get to see much of the campus, Hall said he got to play five or six games and got a good feel for the coaching staff.

"I think it was nice," Hall said. "I like Coach Gillispie. He seems like a coach that is going to push you and wants you to be better. If you go there you have to be ready to work and they have a good staff there too."

"With Kentucky, I don't know when they are going to offer me, but I think they are going to offer soon," he continued. "I talked to Coach Webster [Monday] and he said he thought they were going to offer."

With a pair of offers from in-state schools and plenty of interest from schools across the country, will distance be something Hall, who is ranked No. 87 overall by Scout.com, thinks about?

"It's not a factor at all," Hall said. "I wouldn't mind going out of town at all. When you have powerhouses at home, it can be hard to get away from them, but it doesn't really matter to me. [I want to go] wherever I can go in and be a factor and get some playing time."

The four-star prospect has a busy upcoming schedule. He will be at NBPA Camp next weekend in Charlottesville (Va.), then he will head to Vince Carter Camp, LeBron James Skills Academy, Peach Jam and AAU Nationals.
